Now-a-days, WordPress is the most common web application used by people to create their online presence. This is because WordPress provides many specific features that help user to create website and manage them conveniently. As discussed one can modify changes via WordPress dashboard itself.

Today, in this tutorial we will learn the procedure with which you can change custom email address of admin and user both. Let us learn the procedure in detail.

How to Change Admin Email Address?

Admin Email Address is the email that is used for admin purposes. You can change this by using any of the below mentioned steps.

#Method 1. Via WordPress

a. Change Admin Email: With the below give procedure you can change the administrative email address of WordPress.

  • Login to WordPress dashboard.
  • Get inside Settings section and then click over General.
  • On the next page, scroll down to Administration Email address section and modify the email as per your choice.
  • Click over Save Changes to change you Admin Email address in WordPress.

b. Change Users’ email: You can also modify the email address of other users in WordPress by following the below mentioned steps.

  • In the WordPress dashboard, get into Users section.
  • Click over All Users and proceed.
  • Move the cursor to the user of which you want to change email address and then click over Edit.
  • On the next page, scroll down to Contact Info section and then enter the new email in the box as directed in the image and then Update User.

*You can add more details about the particular user in this section.

So, you have successfully updated the User’s email address in WordPress.

#Method 2. Via phpMyAdmin

a. Change Admin Email: In phpMyAdmin, you can change the admin email by following the below mentioned steps.

  • Login to cPanel associated with your WordPress website.
  • Get inside phpMyAdmin section
  • On the next page, select the database from the left panel list which is associated to your WordPress website.

*You can check the database name from wp-config.php file in File Manager section.

  • List of tables will appear, click over wp_options and proceed.
  • Column list will appear on the right. Edit the admin_email as directed in the below image.
  • On the next page, enter the new email in the box that you want to add as an admin email and then GO.

That’s it. You have successfully changed the admin email in phpMyAdmin.

b. Change User’s email: You can also change email address for other users of WordPress by using the below steps.

  • From the given tables, click over wp_users.
  • Select the user of which you want to change email and then click over Edit.
  • On the next page, enter the new email in the user_email section and then GO.

Thus, you have successfully changed the User’s email in phpMyAdmin.

You can reset the password of the email as well by following the same procedure.

You can change the email or password from WordPress dashboard but what if are unable to access the admin area. For that situation, follow the Method 2, i.e via phpMyAdmin in cPanel and modify the changes.
